This year, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) celebrates 80 years! In celebrating this milestone, the OFA will be awarding three new bursaries in the amount of $3,500 per recipient for students of OFA families who are entering or currently pursuing a post-secondary education in an agriculture-related program. These funds were raised at the 2015 OFA Annual General Meeting Silent Auction and Harvest Tailgate Celebration 50/50 draw.
Each bursary will be awarded regionally, given to one student from each region. The regions include Northern, Eastern and Southwestern Ontario, and eligible applicants must be students of OFA families from across Ontario.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate volunteer and industry-related accomplishments, an interest in agriculture and rural issues, community involvement and satisfactory academic performance. Application forms & all supporting documentation must be submitted to OFA no later than August 1, 2016, and can be downloaded here.
Selected recipients will be announced at the 2016 OFA Annual General Meeting & Convention.
