ANVOL:
Anvol is a nitrogen stabilizer, with dual active ingredients, Duromide and NBPT, from Koch Agronomic Services. It is designed to enhance the effectiveness of nitrogen (N) fertilizers such as urea and UAN by reducing the volatilization losses of N. Anvol works by inhibiting the enzyme urease, which is responsible for converting urea into ammonia. By slowing down the process, Anvol helps to keep nitrogen in the ammonium form, which is less likely to volatilize into the atmosphere, because it can be fixed on clay and organic matter. UTRISHA N:
Utrisha N is a new product by Corteva AgriScience that helps crops fix nitrogen. It is a nutrient efficiency bio-stimulant that contains methylobacterium symbioticum, a bacterium that fixes nitrogen from the atmosphere, once it is in the plant. This provides a sustainable, alternative source of nitrogen and reduces the dependency on nitrogen uptake from the soil, ensuring the plant has access to nitrogen all season long.
Utrisha N is a foliar product that must enter the plant through the stomata and start colonizing and translocating within the plant. It can fix nitrogen in as little as a couple of days and can supply nitrogen throughout the entire crop cycle. The product is flexible in terms of timing and works best when applied to the crop early to fix nitrogen for as long as possible.
Utrisha N is compatible with many products, including InterLock by WinField United, which can improve deposition of the product onto the leaf surface. Water quality is also a consideration when using the product, and water with high chlorine content can kill the bacteria.

Farmers should not use these products on a large scale unless these products are tested and recommended by the third parties such as Provincial or Federal Research facilities including the universities. However, farmers at their own can test these products in a smaller crop area and if found good, can start using these products on a large scale. We are testing Anvol and Holganix 800+ Agriculture in winter cereals and would be testing Holganix 800+ Agriculture in spring crops (wheat, barley, canola and soybean) and PURYIELD UREA 45-0-0 in canola and winter wheat this year. We will, as usual, share our research results with you.
