New OSCIA Workshop Leader for the North

The Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association is pleased to announce that Rudy Buitenhuis has been hired as Workshop Leader to assist in the delivery of educational and incentive programs to the farm community in Northwestern Ontario (Districts of Kenora, Rainy River and Thunder Bay).

Rudy has extensive knowledge and experience in agriculture program delivery and he will be an invaluable asset to both OSCIA and local northwest farmers. He can be reached at either rbuitenhuis@ontariosoilcrop.org or by calling him at 807-632-4587.

Rudy’s duties include local delivery of the EFP, GYFP and biosecurity courses, delivery of incentive programs and participation in local farm organization meetings and activities to promote OSCIA programs.

In addition to the currently scheduled biosecurity workshop, Rudy is also looking for expressions of interest in Environmental Farm Plan and Growing Your Farm Profits workshops locally and across the Northwest with the hope of attracting enough interest to warrant workshops during the winter.
